guys.

you wanna know why the theme of this blog is
called Soaring With God?

watch this video!! >>>

Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust

we are victors, more than conquerors,
and even in hard times, we will soar together with God.

guys.

two days before, when i was studying,
suddenly i just thought of the cell.
and two words came to me.

rise up.

guys. its really really important, cuz we
were put in such a strategic time,
for such a time as THIS.

and i believe, each and EVERY one
of you, are called to be MORE than this.
MORE than what you are now.
you think u've reach your peak?

NO.

clinb higher. there is SO MUCH MORE
that u're capable.

you think you can't pray more?
you CAN.

you think you can't read more?
you CAN.

you think you can't talk to your friends?
duhh, you CAN.

you think you can't do more?
you CAN.

you can do ALL this and more.
you were called to be more than this.
repeat after me.
i am called to be more than this.

it all depends on DESIRE.
do you desire, do you yearn to be more?

do you desire?

I GOT SOMETHING TO SHARE!

do you guys know about red camp?
every year we have three days of red camp
for the sec4 kids to experience NP life
and we top it all off with a hopnite on the last day.

and hopnite, as you all know, is something
like a watered-down version of clubbing
without the alcohol.

to some people, its just dancing!
or, i'm just staying there with friends,
there's no drinking!! or c'mon, its bonding
time with the other campers la...

but. there are stands that we have to make on
this issue.

on day 3 of red camp, one of the staff mentors
came up to me and asked me if i was
so-and-so's daughter. it turned out that
she thought that i looked like my mum, so
she asked. and years back she had sent her
daughter to my mum's childcare center.
what a small world!!
she told me to send her regards to my mum.

later, as the whole redcamp was coming to a close,
the emcee said something like, we're gonna have
a blast her at our own ZoukOut!!
and THAT staff mentor turned to me and asked,
so, does your mum allow you to come to such an event?
does she know?

and i told her,
er.. she doesnt know.. i didnt tell her, because
i'm not going.

and she asked,
why?

and i replied,
cuz i'm going to church. i've got something on.
(fresh fire conference)
if it was you, would you let your daughter come to
such an event?

and she admitted,
....no.... after all, it's like clubbing. so... no.

so over the next hour or so,
there were people asking me if i was gg for hopnite.
and i gave the same answer.

and i believed i made my stand by
showing very clearly that i chose CHURCH
over a hopnite/ZoukOut..

21st Nov 2008 - i chose God over the world.

YAY! my common tests are finally over,
and there are SO MANY THINGS i wanna share!!

cereal shared that ode, tails (brandon), b. andrew,
herself and myself were there at the fresh fire conference.
and there was this AWESOME speaker.
bernard blessings. (i cannot remember if his first name
is right, but i know that his surname made me go, WOAH!)

i picked up bits and pieces of his message,
that i think you guys should know too.

FOCUS ON THE LORD OF THE WORK, NOT
THE WORK OF THE LORD.

guys, even as you're getting busier and busier,
do remember that no matter what you do,
don't forget to go back to Him.

In your studies, honor Him, BUT don't get too carried
away with "honoring God with your grades"
that you forget about God himself.
i was one such example. once i start worrying
about studies, i get so caught up. but God "goodness-ed"
me one day when He asked me, " why do you say that
your grades bring honor to me, when you get so engrossed
and forget about me?"

for those of you that are serving, it's the same thing.
dont get so caught up with serving Him that you forget
WHY and WHO you're serving.

and every day when you make a stand for Him,
remember who it is you're doing this for, why do you
want to do it in the first place. dont get so caught up
with the process of DOING that you get tired.

the bottom line: we serve God because we love Him
and not because of obligation. keep your focus right.

hey,

since common test is coming or rather it came for some of us already, i was thinking that we should pray for one another in terms of strength, wisdom, time mangement and continue faithfully spending time with God.

let's honour God with our studies
don't worry about your studies.
study hard and give it your best for God
i am sure that He will honour each and everyone of you in His own ways
and God himself, will give you His best.

to top it off,
shall bless all of you with a verse or rather a few verses. haha

philippians 4:4-7

" Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

AND

when you are feeling tired or weary,

remember

philippians 4:13

"I can do everything through him who gives me strength"

heee

all of you will do just fine.
as for those with no common test,

don't slack!! wahaha

=)

i can't wait for christmas.
deck the halls with halls of holly
fa la la la la la la la la
this the season to be jolly
fa la la la la la la la la

i can't wait for food

HELLOOOO. i have another test tomorrow. :D but i shall write about how God blessed me with the camp fees!! :D

okay, initially, ever since the middle of my 1st term, i decided to set up a subway franchise store in Ngee Ann to earn extra money. i got the business proposal and meeting scheduled with the teacher already. buuut.. a bomb dropped on me when Dippit already did it, by the time i came back for my 2nd term. was i angry? haha, yes i was. but oh well, i couldn't possibly compete with the big boys, right?

i decided to use the bakery business to get the extra money. my faithful mother advertised and promoted my brownies and cookies. her cell group friends and close friends bought from me. plus, GI THIONG! he bought a box of cookies and another box brownies from me! [: thank you so much, thiong!

in 1 week(isn't it amazing? in such a short span of time?!), i managed to raise $183 for my camp (including the unfinished orders). xD

dudes and dudettes? God would never want you guys to miss out on this amazing experience with Him. He will provide as long as you are willing to seek Him fervently.

hope you guys will be more willing to go for camp after reading this little blessing provided by God.

aloha! HAHAHA. i just realized that it's been the same few people who have been posting in the blogg. so i have decided to join the posting family. [:

friday 21st november 2008, antoinette, odelia, brandon, brother andrew and i went for fresh fire conference. woohoo. it's amazing. the music and the preaching were both strong and passionate. oh yes, the pastor's (the little brown clay with fat lips, quoted by the pastor, himself) had a great deal of humor. it woke up and jolted the tired antoinette.

it was also a miracle session, by which, many people were healed of their illnesses and sickness. there will be more healing in the days to come as God will work through them and in them.

hmmm.. oh yes, the second time i want to thank you for the bible!! :D thank you guys for this amazing blessing. my old bible is falling apart but i still love it. but of course, the bible-given by the cell-will be much more appreciated by me! HAHAHAHA.

don't stop reading the Word and praising God yes? Spur each other's faith! xD

LALALALALA. can't wait to see you guys tomorrow!

p.s: i enlarged the font because i can't see the words on the blog, it's so tiny. o.O

3:42 PM

woah.

i have quite a lot to say.

firstly. Thanks, taby, for telling the

story about cheryl. from then till now.

here's it from the parent's point of view.

hahah.

i still cant forget whn i first met cheryl.

i'm like, whr's she, whr's she?

and mocca's like, there there, the girl sitting

at the end. it was the praise junction,

trinity@Adam.

i was thinking in my mind, if i should go over

and say hi. and i did, after awhile.

i introduced myself, but as we'd just met,

i think cheryl must have been wondering,

who IS this girl who says she's my spiritual

parent?

anyhow, there were breakthrough after breakthroughs

as cheryl joined us for the FIRST CELL (so excited),

(man i still remember it like it was ystrd..)

and whn she joined us for service,

and told me she would be joining us for

sunday services from now on,

u cannot imagine how ELATED i was.

its really amazing.then she started serving

and bonding with the rest,

and we were hopeful (and prayerful)

that she might be able to go for water baptism.

and OF COURSE, the whole cell was really

excited for her.

its like, one of those major major breakthroughs

in one's life.

cheryl, i want you to know

that it WAS amazing, and you have crossed to

a higher level.

stand strong, against all testing,

stand firm, against all trials.

no matter what,

we're all in this together. (HSM!!)

this fight, this road we're on.

as a cell, we must stand united.

we share the burden of fighting for His cause.

we face trials in different forms, but

we want to be JOBs and ELIHUs,

yeah?

all i can say is... WEE~~~ we had pre cell to cell; cell today, with Clarice, Odi, Cheryl and I meeting upstairs at the cell area like 2 hours before cell was supposed to begin. Too bad, we are the early "enders"; so we gathered together to chill/ study/ entertain ourselves as we waited for cell.
But cell was GREAT; today, with almost everyone present: Cheryl (CereaL), Sheryl, Odi, Net, Tails, Mocca, Gitiong, Clarice, Bro Andrew, Faith and I. Although some came late due to work/ attachment/ other commitments; heyy, we were a full cell~~~
Net lead us in a real "destresser" gel; actually, we all displayed our stress in our "high-ness" (thank God gel started; because before that someone was polluting the air and wouldn't stop *hint* *hint*) with a game of Taboo, with Odi, Mocca and I in 1 team (muahaha, the year 2's) and CereaL, Clarice and Faith in another (vs the year 1's :P). All the words were really easy to guess; probably because we knew each other too well (like, one of the words was "Taby", and Faith was like: "BARLEY" to her team) so we guessed each word within less than 30s flat. And we nearly had Mocca do a forfiet (it was the usual for our cell: like, we'd exclaim, "okay! the losing team; Mocca will do the forfieit for you!"), but there was a lack of time, so we saved all his forfiets for the next week. Then we had Glorify; lead by Cereal, and God's hand was evident in the various testimonies we shared; and then there was grow, lead by Net on the buddies of Job; (that faithful fella of God whom the devil tested) like how they encouraged (or discouraged) him with their words in his situation. We learnt about caring and connecting our friends from there, and Clarice shared about how we can encourage our "Job" friends by relating our own experiences to them and talking about how God brought has us through these. And Net went on to talk about how Job's buddies stayed out with him for 7 days and 7 nights while he moaned his immense losses. I mean; woah, talk bout 7 days and 7 nights; how many of us could have done that today? So Sheryl, Cereal and Odi (plus Bro Andrew) shared and decided in their small group that they would find a friend to pray with; and they would share that with the cell the next week, and we decided to follow too as a cell. Finally, to round off the whole point of Finding a Need, meeting a Need, Net got Clarice, Faith and I to act out a scene of Clarice, lugging a heavy bag, and Faith and I were to exclaim, "SEE a Need (exaggerated action of hand over eyes), MEET a NEED (run over and help her carry her bag." But of course, Tails decided to give some of his *ahem* *ahem* opinion, so the cell voted that he did a reanactment of the scene; with Mocca as the "Need-finder"; and they ended off in true Mocca-Tails fashion (all the *ahEm*; brotherly love)
Then I lead with prayer; on 2 Sam 6:14-22: David who danced before the Lord despite his status; that like David, we'd all not seek our own glory; but God's. Finally, Odi geared us all up by reminding us all on this cell blog; (inclusive of signature "Odi-dance" and "Odi-egg-laying" *place hands on your hips like a chicken, and stick tummy out*;P) and Net rounded off with the usage of BATTLE PLAN: a tool used to help us target friends to care and connect, and with the annoucement of CHRISTMAS PARTY!~~~~ For those who didn't catch her, it's on the 27th Dec, and Tail's (Tailses?) house, and finally AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: CAMP!!!!!!

Matthew 11:12
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.

Btw: CeeZealMozal (etc; can't spell your long and complicated name), hehe, no prob; proud of yah for making realisation that fast. Continue to trust Him yah?

[: yo yo yo!! HAHAHA! I just want to encourage you guys to go for church camp, okay? It's going to be an amazing time that you can spend with God. I'm baking brownies for my mom's friends so that I can earn the mooleh and go for camp!! If you guys want to support me, PLEASE DO SO. HAAHHAAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHA.

OKAY, firstly, I want to thank Taby. Thank you so much for encouraging me to break the snare that the devil has set upon me. Before and during cell, I felt like there was much burden on me.

Secondly, I want to thank you Antoinette. I know I broke the news to you quite suddenly. But I felt like I was going to burst. But after I admitted, every anger and disappointment broke free. [: HAHAHAHA. DEVIL, YOU CANT USE THIS AGAINST ME ANYMORE.

Woo! Eh Taby, it's okay to be barley. I love to drink barley. xD

I love you guys, NP KINGFISHERS!!

Guess who? Hint: Cheezelmomeezel.

10:36 PM

bird story

Deep in the beautiful woods of Adam, high up in a tree, on a branch hanging over the lake, was a family of birds. These birds were kingfishers, and they were all very young babies, raised by PaPa bird, who fed the baby birds with fish from the lake every morning. All the baby birds were happy under PaPa's care, and God blessed PaPa bird with more and more baby birds, until the nest got too full. So PaPa bird went to God, who chose 6 baby birds to start a new nest in the woods of Ngee. The baby birds, who already loved each other so much by then, did not really want to be parted, but they knew they had to, so they did, and they flew off out of the safety of their woods in Adam to the uncertainty of Ngee.

Now the 6 baby birds were: MoCha bird, who was really puffy, Eepie bird, who squeaked when poked, La La bird, who sang beautifully; Ann bird, who twittered like she came from another wood, Fa Fa bird, and finally, Funny bird, who was the joy of the nest.

So when the baby birds first built their nest they didn't really know what to do. So PaPa bird came along to help them, and God sent more baby birds to join them, but the nest was quite shakey, and some baby birds fell out occassionally. Not to mention that there was the stress of wind and rain, and the baby birds were battered from all sides trying to keep the nest together. PaPa bird still came frequently to watch out for them, but there was only 1 PaPa bird, so he couldn't be with either nest all the time. So PaPa bird began to teach Ann, LaLa, Funny and Eepie birds how to take care of the nest, catching fish and feeding the rest; fighting off other predators; being brutal with the pursuit of the fish; looking out for one another... and God blessed the birds, so they learnt pretty fast, and soon, the nest was pretty stable.

Monday, November 10, 2008

ok, on Sunday, Cheryl got WATER BAPTISED!!~~~~ HALLELUYAH! (hehe, taby's creative spelling). Anyway, we gathered after service outside Agapeland (which is closing down soon *soBs* like, i grew up there, and if only i had been born 3 years ago, i would have gotten my degree in Early childhood and would been able to save it) to celebrate it and pray for her. Faith made her a "cereaL box" card, branded with "Cheryl's Cereal" and the face of our star on the front; which opens up to all our notes stuck inside. Cheryl's friends were there too, and they gave her a bouquet of flowers and a huge Elmo balloon, which, "unfortunately" became the victim of a series of impromptu performances by Odi, Bro Andrew and Brandon (see videos ;) Faith and Odi were not feeling too good, so I was encouraging them to take Barley beans, because it is scientifically proven to bring up one's immune system; and guess what?!? Elieen and Odi repaid me by teasing me about Barley for the rest of the day! Man, talk about gratitude~~ but i'll still advice anyone who's sick to take Barley because it is SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN. Anyway we gathered round to lay our hands and pray for Cheryl, this really fervant for God sister who has just reached the hallmark of her relationship with God by being baptised. Wanna hear the story of how she reached this stage? its really cool, trust me:

Long long ago, way way before your time.... (ok, hehe, just kidding)

A few months ago, this would have been something which Cheryl would have never have possibly dreamt of; partially because her Dad was a non Christian, and he didn't appove of it one bit. Sure, in this society, we have a generation of teens who rebell against their parents, but Cheryl wasn't like them; her father mattered to her; and that's important too, because God calls us to honor our parents. Anyway, she prayed for very long over this, as God continued to honor her faithfulness by speaking into her life and using her abilities to bless our cell (she became closer and more accountable to Net, her SP, baked cupcakes for all of us to encourage us the other day; and was the initiator of our cell time table and a few other dinners (became the cell "rah-raher"; and she lead our cell in prayer; after joining PTF (Prayer Task Force) where God moved in her and taught her to claim His promises for Him in prayer) This was really big for Cheryl, because she was quite quiet when she first came in; so this was like, woah: God's ultra obvious hand in someone's life; played out for the rest of our cell to see. Then came water baptism; when she decided to make that stand for God and started asking her Dad. Now the first few tries were really rough; despite all the prayer and so on. Several times, Net had to sms our entire cell to keep her in prayer; just before she asked her Dad. The odds were pretty much against us back then; only that we had God on our side, so we prayed and believed as a cell.
Finally, after a pretty long period of time (not sure how long, because people like me have little or no sense of time; hehe) Cheryl annouced in cell that she was able to go for WATER BAPTISM! Man was our cell excited with her, especially Net, because that was her Spiritual Baby, and as a parent you're like: MY BABY DID IT~~~~ The rest, of course, was history, but that marks the kick start of Cheryl's relationship with God on a whole new level. Last I heard, was that she's going for SP course in the next few months!

Matt9:29
"According to your faith, it will be done to you."

This is an excellent conversation between 'God' and an unknown ' - 'Me'. I don't know as to who has been the composer of such an interesting and captivating conversation ; but has he/she has definitely put in good amount of thought into crafting the same. *

Those who don't believe in God, may also find it worth reading once. Enjoy and Think !
God: Hello. Did you call me?
Me: Called you? No.. Who is this?

God: This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.
Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in
the midst of something.

God: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.
Me: Don't know. But I can't find free time. Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

God: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results.Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
Me: I understand. But I still can't figure out. By the way, I was notexpecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.

God: Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you
are comfortable with.
Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?

God: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.
Me: why are we then constantly unhappy?

God: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit.
That's why you are not happy.
Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?
God: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.
Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.

God: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

God: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that
experience their life become better not bitter.
Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?

God: Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can't we be free from problems?

God: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and
endurance, not when you are free from problems.

Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading..

God: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes
provide sight. Heart provides insight.

Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?

God: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you road ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.
Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

God: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
Me: What surprises you about people?

God: When they suffer they ask, 'why me?' When they prosper, they never ask 'Why me'. Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.
Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I can't get the answer.

God: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not
merely a process of discovery but a process of co-creation. You are my co-creator.
Me: How can I get the best out of life?

God: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.
Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

God: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.
Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat.

God: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve.
Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live. 'Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that took our breath away!

okie, so we had cell last Tuesday; and it was crazy and hilarious as usual, but powerful because God was there: and that was ultra obvious. Like, Odi lead gel (and did a reanactment of her"odi-dance-in-front-of-the-chruch-toilet-mirror" before she started); and though it was meant for the "new comers" who couldn't come :( , we still had tonnes of fun; because duh: it's us! ;)
Anyway: the gel was on getting each other to do what was written on a post it stuck to their backs (players didn't know what was their "taboo" action, of course) and once you did the action on your post it, you lost. So, knowing each other we stuck on everyone's "signature action" (mine was saying "eep" involuntarily, but nobody suceeded in making me "eep" because they made it too ulra obvious by dashing towards me head on in effort to poke me). Odi was the first one to go down (in her own game; ahahahah) by pointing, and next was Gitiong, who naively waved when Cheryl said, "everyone let's go "HI!.... (waves both hands as desribed on GT's post-it)" and we all copied consecutively in a circle around her. So that left Cheryl, Net (Ant) and I, who were too ultra smart to lose; so we were the winners ;P
Then we had Glorify; where I lead in worship, and we sang "To the Ends of the Earth" and I don't know if everyone felt the same, but man, was God there! Like, He totally lead me in everything I did during that period; and I was clear about what to do, despite the pressures of time constraints (which normally causes my temporary mental blankouts). So worship was short; but POWERFUL. And God's presence carried on over to Grow, which we had on the bench (I wanted to sit on the table top, cuz it's more fun that way, but in the end only Net and I sat on the table top -.-"). Net lead us in reading about Job; we did a little "play" on Job; and Tails (Brandon) walked in just on time (he was late cuz of attachment) to play "Satan" ( :P naturally~) and it was absolutely hilarious yet effective in driving Job's message of living our Faith under fire at the same time! And we all got really real with our sharing: Cheryl shared on her family issues; Odi on her at risk of heart attack (family history) symptoms and Net on the necessary check ups which she has to undergo annually because she has a suspected medical condition.
Then Cheryl lead prayer: we prayed for this Sunday's service; and man, God made His presence really evident again ( not that it was not before) . Oh, and Tails ended by gearing us all up for CAMP!!! which all who are reading this should sign up for cuz it's gonna be RADICAL!!~~~~~
ahem. yea, so that was cell~

last night i came up with this awesome

(or so then i thought) idea

that we should have a cell blog!!

though i'm not sure how many of you are

actually keen about it, but

do write something, scribble about..

stuff you wanna give thanks for, or you wanna

be kept in prayer about..

let us all share it with you!!

and you never know..

years down the line,

if we see this again, we may be encouraged..

or it may encourage others,

christian or not.

start writing away!!
